Many Reasons for Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving Blog Readers (aka our Moms)! We celebrated our 2010 Thanksgiving in low-key style by taking our little family over to Bend for the long weekend. It wasn’t our usual big feast with lots of family, and J commented a few times that it didn’t exactly feel like Thanksgiving, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

Clare, eating the potatoes!
Between lots of cooking, eating, reading, and relaxing in Bend we did some playing in the snow. J and the dogs especially liked the snow, and Clare and I had fun watching them play.

Spending four uninterrupted days with Clare gave us a front-row seat as she learned some new tricks. She’s started saying words along with her signs. She’s signed “milk” “all done” “more” and “food” for a while now. This last weekend she now says “mulk” or “ah-do” along with her signs. She’s also now saying “pwees” when she signs Please. It melts us every time and usually gets her whatever her little heart desires – even if it’s more blueberries instead of vegetables for dinner.
