Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the McPhersons! We celebrated in the low-key style that had been our trademark in the past few years. Gone are the days of a party bus to the VIP event at Kell’s. Now it was brunch with friends, followed by a dinner of corned beef and cabbage. Oh, and super cute matching shirts for our little leprechauns! Don’t they look especially Irish? Little Sam’s eyes are getting lighter and so is his hair. His coloring is beginning to look a lot more like Clare’s, so we have a couple of blue-eyed blonds.

In other Sam news, we had his four-month check-up yesterday. We were taking bets that he’s over 20 lbs. now and we were all wrong. He weighed in at 19 lbs. 15.5 oz. This made J and I really relieved, since at 22 lbs. we need to get a new car seat. I’m glad to put that expense off for a few weeks or months. He’s still in the 100% for weight! He’s also 28.125 inches long! Holy moly! By contrast, at 4 months Clare was 12 lbs. 15 oz. (yes, 7 pounds lighter) and 24 inches long.

We’re in the midst of the four-month sleep regression (hell) so I’m going to keep this short and sweet. Sweet like Mr. Sam, though my guess is he will never be called short.
